YOU HAVE WON !     You may be asked to send money for the processing of your 'win'.   The fraudulent sender is the winner !  

It just means that someone has obtained your address and wants money from you.

 

 

INTERNET  -  Malicious code !     Protect your PC / Laptop by using Antivirus software.   Suggestion: Search for 'avgfree'.   As the name says, it is free, with daily updates, but you can't obtain Support.   The writers/perpetrators of malicious software may not benefit financially, but it costs all of us in combating it.

 

 

INTERNET PHISHING ?   Unscrupulous individuals may collect emails and use them fraudulently or sell them to others.   You may be pestered with 'spam' - unsolicited emails, but the big threat comes from emails which claim to be from your bank  or suchlike.   It will already have your details and will not ask you to 'Confirm your details' or 'Register for a new security service'.   Ignore it !   But if you should be caught and find fraudulent charges on a statement, contact the sender asap.   Have the payment and account cancelled and open a new account.
